This album is a re-work of a cassette released several years go, called Axel's Favorite Pub Songs, Vol. 1. Axel re-recorded several of the songs from that album, plus he's added five original compositions. The Beggarman's Song and Dragonslayer were written and performed by Axel and the Knave in 1989 on a promotional album called "101 Knights." Beer is Better Than Women is a brand new song for 1998, inspired in part by a bit of modern folklore -- a humorous post that has been circulating the Internet via e-mail.
